June LAST Fridays

To launch the project Monoculture, and her Beaconsfield residency, Challenger will introduce her lifelong Tamsynette project – an opportunity for visitors to don a wig and make like Tamsyn.

This event forms part of the South London Art Map LAST Fridays: http://www.southlondonartmap.com/

June’s Bankside Afterparty takes place at Alma Enterprises: http://www.almaenterprises.com/location.html

Tamsyn Challenger: Monoculture a residency and exhibition in collaboration with Tereza Buskova and Matthew Cowan, is a new, collaborative project conceived by Challenger to focus on the homogenised nature of global culture and to explore alternatives.

Challenger, Buskova and Cowan work variously with aspects of folklore and the collaborative aim is to 'infect' each others practice over the period to bring out the concept, looking at traditional ritual and its relationship to homogenisation.

Tamsyn Challenger will be in residence with Beaconsfield from June 29 making a series of public performances and events, building towards a new body of work to be exhibited with her collaborators in Winter 2012/13.
