Mark Crinson lectures in the History of Art at the University of Manchester. His most recent books are his edited volume Urban Memory: History and Amnesia in the Modern City (2005) and Modern Architecture and the End of Empire (2003). He is currently researching ideas about nostalgia and austerity and their relation to architecture in post-war Britain.
