IC-98: Arkhipelagos

Finnish-duo IC-98 return to Beaconsfield on a grand scale with new hand-drawn animations: Arkhipelagos (Navigating the Tides of Time), 2013 – a three channel video installation - and Arkhipelagos (Ebb), 2013.

This is IC-98’s second exhibition at Beaconsfield following their debut UK show in 2012. Visitors to Beaconsfield’s Arch space were enthralled by the highly detailed pencil-drawn animation, A View from the Other Side, which focussed on the slow passage of time in relation to architectural representation of human endeavour. Arkhipelagos builds on this work, with an elegiac take on planet earth and human mark-making on its surface.

Based in Turku, Finland, IC-98 is Visa Suonpää (b. 1968) and Patrik Söderlund (b. 1974). IC-98 will represent Finland in the Venice Biennale 2015.
