Paul Helliwell
By Mute, 26 May 2009
Paul Helliwell is mainly interested in the social function of art and music. His reading starts with Attali and Adorno and he has got as far as early Althusser. He became interested in this area as a result of his experiences playing guitar in the hugely unsuccessful (and justly forgotten) anarchist afro-punk band, Bush House. Now he makes acoustic folk music as horsemouth [www.myspace.com/horsemouthfolk ]. He is active in the housing co-op movement. He works supporting deaf students in education. He is a big fan of zombies and the undead generally. He can be contacted at phelliwell2000 AT yahoo.co.uk
