During the annual Cinekid Festival Mediamatic will bring professional media makers, producers from broadcasters and production companies up-to-date on game culture and will provide makers with the tools to incorporate game aspects in cross-media projects. Games and Internet are gradually replacing television as children's favorite media. How can media makers use games and game culture in cross-media productions? If you can't beat them, join them. Content All participants will learn the basic principles of creating machinima, of designing 3D game spaces, and of developing game play and game rules. Participants will also learn about trends in game culture such as massive multi-player games and new kinds of game interfaces like the Nintendo Wii. Next to this, participants will learn about the new web culture of creating, matching and sharing user-generated content, which is very influential in game culture. The Cinekid Festival media seminars are included. On 21 October the results of the workshop will be presented during a public presentation at the Cinekid Festival. Information and registration The maximum amount of participants is 16. There are two full scholarships available for participants from the newer EU countries.
