03/11/2007 - 12:00am 13/12/2007 - 5:00pm Etc/GMT Exactly 200 years ago the slavery was abolished in the Britain. Big celebrations have been staged all over the United Kingdom with thousands of pounds spent in order to do so. Who invented the slavery in the first place? These are just some of the reasons why UN BOUND has been created. The group exhibition with international artists including conceptual work, photography, video, film, installations, live performances and interventions will be launched on Friday the 2nd of November 2007 at Contemporary Art Platform, London (6 - 9pm). Regardless of one's race, religion, social, political or cultural background, UNBOUND will invite the viewer to engage with issues of modern-day bondage by penetrating one's own profound experience in relation to freedom or choice and action. The project will investigate enslavement in the contemporary world, as well as looking into the questions of liberty, (in)tolerance, ignorance and belief. The UNBOUND artists, stripped of any inhibitions or judgments will break Pandora's box wide open. Curated by Predrag Pajdic , with: Justin Allen, Yasmeen Al Awadi, Barney Ashton, Tim Blake, Nemanja Cvijanovic, Martin Effert, Wendy Faucheaux Dolan, Sagi Groner, Emily Jacir, Vesna Milicevic, Jean Gabriel Periot, Michael Petry, Nada Prlja, Santiago Sierra, Penny Siopis, Emily Stainer & Judith Witteman From 3rd November - December 13th 2007 Contemporary Art Platform , 1 Thane Villas, London N7 7PH, United Kingdom Tel +44 (0)77 344 340 66 Free admission.
