In a time of credit crisis, small to medium bank branches are failing, forcing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to go in and clean up the mess. Coming in stealthily to avoid public panic and sudden withdrawal of all a bank’s funds, which would result in a sinking of the bank and possibly others in the area, the FDIC makes a quick job of taking over the bank.

WSFII LIMEHOUSE TOWNHALL 2005

The most recent of a series of World Summits on Free Information Infrastructures, took place between the 1st and 3rd October 2005 at Limehouse Town hall in London. This gathering of free infrastructure developers of all kinds sought to create not only a convivial and 'open' space to represent practices and validate knowledge, but also effect its locality with some of the possibilities of free infrastructure practice.

Thomkins Square Park, New York. The pungent odour of fresh garlic saturates the nearby atmosphere. A bright orange truck marked in large letters with the words ‘Trade for Garlic’ is attracting the attention of passersby. They stop to examine its contents, harangued by the traders who stand by the truck exhorting members of the public to ‘get garlic!’
