31/12/2005 - 7:00pm 01/01/2006 - 12:00pm Etc/GMT As the year draws to a close, the Synergy Community is poised on the verge of a great leap forward, with the renovations of the new Synergy Centre in Camberwell entering their final stages. After recent turmoils, Synergy is reuniting its diverse talents to create a beautiful and thriving community arts centre, through the combined labours of the crew, all donating their work towards this higher vision. Breaking new ground in opening London's first fully legit centre for alternative culture and free thinking brings attendant costs, yet the potential benefits are massive. To this end, the cream of Synergy's creative talent are gathering for the first time on this scale in their new home to celebrate the start of a new year full of promise. Once again we are reaching out to you, the audience, who have brought us this far and whose support and appreciation is our biggest asset, to join us this New Year's Eve. For the first time Synergy will enjoy the luxury of our own venue, with in-house security and an opportunity to party well into the afternoon of Jan 1st. The gathering will start at 7pm, with organic, vegan wholefood served by the Synergy Sattva café, to the dulcet tones of the various poets and singer-songwriters of the Small World Stage, who have made the regular Tuesday night sessions at the Centre such a success. Kids activities will be laid on by the Warrior Princess and Jedi Training Academy, insuring a family friendly vibe for the entire night as, later on, shared babysitting in the kids crash space will be organised to ensure parents can enjoy a night out. If you are planning to bring your kids please be aware that we need you to remain responsible throughout the night and that the kids space closes at 10pm in the morning – at which time by the latest kids need to be collected. We are also hoping that you will be able to contribute some time to the supervision of the little ones! Find out more about the kids space here Having built up from scrumptious dinner vibes to the bouncy festival bands for which they are rightly renowned, the Small World stage will hand over briefly to Kakatsitsi, Master Drummers from Ghana, who will host a unique ceremony to usher in the New Year, guided by a number of Synergy's in-house shamans and mystical mistresses. Thereafter, Liquid and friends will be a serving a dish of hypnotic, intelligent and funky deep psychedelic grooves followed by a rare breakfast session of live psychedelic breakbeats from some very special guest Live acts !! all geometrically balanced with the awesome decor giants Fluffy Mafia and visual team Inside-Us-All .. Meanwhile, upstairs in the creative splendor of the Synergy Gallery, ID Spiral, Art Nation and Sangita Sounds will be hosting a deep chill deluxe with visual delights from all directions. Organic, vegan wholefood will also be served by the Synergy Sattva Café, enriching the atmosphere further with the customary array of campaign and awareness stalls, healers and jugglers. Visual Treats will be provided as ever in excellent quality by Inside us All and friends – both in the main dance room as well as the gallery chill out! Expect some of the finest! Tickets available soon from Tickets will only be available from Monday the 19th December, however Online tickets are now also available via our own website and paypal! The fastest and easiest way. Due to the restrictions of the building we are not issuing more than 500 tickets – so please book as soon as you can!!!! 60% of proceeds from ticket prices are going directly towards completing the infrastructure projects within the building, so that the centre can be sustained as a long term community meeting place for creativity & free thinking. looking forward to celebrating with you the synergy community |
