Dear researchers,
Within the ubiscribe research project we'd like to invite you to join our
meeting on 14th of January at 13:00 in room 204, Jan van Eyck Academie.
In a
series of meetings we'd like to exchange on our current projects and
discuss
issues related to online publishing, online collaboration and social
exchange structures on the internet with invited guests.

After the presentations by Auke Touwslager and Tanguy Coenen there is time
to briefly introduce the project you're working on or update on its
development.

Presentations:

Auke Touwslager
Auke Touwslager received his design degree from the Design Academy in
Eindhoven, the Netherlands. In 2001 he co-founded Anderemedia, a Dutch
design studio dedicated to designing innovative concepts, web applications
and information mapping tools. In the same year he became a principal
affiliate of Govcom.org, an Amsterdam-based foundation dedicated to
creating
and hosting political tools on the Web. Govcom.org is conceived as a
project
to map debates on the Web on important social issues. The Issue Crawler
is a
software tool that locates and visualizes networks on the Web, used by NGOs
and other researchers to answer questions about specific networks and
effective networking more generally.

Tanguy Coenen
Tanguy Coenen holds a Bachelor and Masters degree in Commercial engineering
from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He is currently working as a
researcher
at the department for Quantitative methods applied to the human sciences
(MOSI) and the Evolution, Complexity and Cognition group (ECCO).
His research interests are

• Knowledge sharing
• Knowledge intensive organizations
• Knowledge management information systems
• Social networks analysis
• Associative nature of creativity

His current research focuses on how knowledge sharing between distributed
individuals can be achieved over social networking systems. His approach is
to use a multidisciplinary perspective to analyze the knowledge sharing
process and find out how social networking systems can address the issues
involved.
Furthermore, Tanguy’s research team obtained government funding to
develop a
social networking system, particularly aiming to stimulate knowledge
sharing. This project, called “Knosos
