OpenMute has updated its design plans for the alternative media
distribution and international screening database system using the
CiviCRM FLOSS contacts software.

You are welcome to join the projects working group using one of the

We are planning to have a Alpha v0.2 out by early December this year and

Openmute is developing a second version of their "Agent System" through
which they are distributing and selling their publications. It is based
on the Drupal CMS and the CivicCRM module. In a process to incorporate
video into their activities the new distribution management system will
include a screener database, as well as a database of available films.
The project is in the testing phase at the moment.

The new documentary on Indymedia entitled "I - The Film" is on tour in
Europe at the moment, and it was chosen as a test for the transmission
network to support the tour by organising screenings. Furthermore, the
film crew agreed to ask at each location if the local collective would
like to join the screener database. By that way of mutual help, the film
will spread more efficiently and the screening database will grow as well.

Over the course of the ReTransmission event in London we consulted
interested parties about the project and we have now incorporated
feedback from the participants into a planned Alpha v0.2 for this
December 2006.

Since OpenMute has an ongoing development communications infrastructure
we decided NOT to create a NEW transmission email list for this working
group for sanities sake.
