Dear contributing (and other) editors

Here, belatedly, is a basic outline of the Editorial Agent brief which
you can edit heavily or add to when constructing your personal emails
to potential News and Analysis contributors (aka Editorial Agents).

Now that the site is up and running, it would be great if you could all
contact the people we talked about in the meeting before Xmas and ask
them if they'd like to get involved. The following is pretty basic and
shmooze-free, but I'm assuming you will supply the 'we love and value
you above all other potential contributors' factor in your mail.

In case smarm fails you, you could try the following kinda thing: 'Dear
X, I'm wondering if you'd like to become one of Mute's new editorial
agents. I love your writing and you have an unequalled grasp of whats
going on in (eg open source bioscience); it would be so wonderful if
you would share even a small portion of your important and voluminous
inbox traffic on this subject with us. Your comments would turn an
otherwise bland info tidbit into a sumptuous feast for the brain...'
etc etc

Hope the following is at least as useful as the above, and please let
us know in due course who you managed to snag for this (unpaid,
kudos-laden) role. Also, could you post all names/ subject areas you
suggest to the edit list so we avoid duplicating commissions? Thanks
