*Andy Stringer: The Destabilisation of perception*

*There are many different ways in which an artwork can be created; Andy
Stringer is one of a growing number of artists who have chosen to
express themselves and their artistic practice through the digital
medium of the computer.*

*Like oil paint and brush, or hammer and chisel, the computer is simple
another tool that any artist can use to produce their artwork. Andy
Stringer explores through a controlled method of discovery via the
technology he uses, a depth and complexity of imagery he feels is
unachievable within conventional artistic media practice.*

*It is by using the computer as a tool in this way, utilising the
techniques only available to the computer, to create and manipulate his
images, that he produces his large original Post Abstract paintings.
