'Locked into the System'
In Ireland the so called 'economic miracle' is beginning to slow down. Economic development in Ireland has primarily been fuelled by massive investments in property. Young middle class Irish people are encouraged to take out massive life long mortgages. Getting your foot on the 'Property Ladder' is seen as the smart way to invest for new money. Locking people into the economy through debt is just yet another way of subjugating a young educated population. To make matters worse inflated prices have left a large portion of the population out of the loop, who in the current climate will never be able to afford a home of their own.
