Chelsea Futurespace is delighted to present the work of Jonty Morris and Phil Rutter. This exhibition takes ideas of "Separation" and "Memory" as its central themes. Interest in these themes and the use of matter of fact everyday materials are common connections that the two artists recognised when they studied sculpture together at Chelsea College of Art and Design.
Both Morris and Rutter find poetic meaning in ordinary and everyday things. Their work speaks of vulnerabiblity, detachment, symbolic ritual, and loss. Memories fade, nothing is absolute. All things must pass, it is time to move on.
