Drown Them in the Canal is a new temporary, contemporary, up-to-the-minute, of-the-hour, in-the-moment project room and studio run by a group of artists, curators and one architect (of sorts) who enjoy the thrill of dialogue - which is alive - as opposed to the presentation of objects -
which are, of course, dead.

For one year (not a day more or less) the project room-space-studio-forum
platform-chamber-laboratory will play host to a whole host of
activities including discussions, screenings, performances, debates, events,
jumble sales, cribbage nights, speed dating and line dancing - a veritable
orgy of happenings. Oh, did we mention happenings... and orgies.

Our inaugural programme of events are entitled pretends... Here, the
leading lights of the E8 art scene will get the chance to validate flimsy
practices by screening a film, or TV programme, that is altogether more serious
and rigorous.

Week 2: Gordon Comstock (the invisible curator) screens a double bill of
Heimat
and Die Zeit Heimat.
