The ArC 2007 exhibition is being held at Firstsite in Colchester.

It showcases the creative work produced by 15 artists who have been working with local schools from Colchester.

ArC stands for Art reflecting Citizenship, and is a three year project, sending practicing artists into schools to creatively explore citizenship.

The schools have investigated many topical issues such as recycling, identity, environmental issues and communities from around the world.

One highlight of the project was when pupils of North Primary linked up with street-children of Ecuador over the internet to find out more about each others communities.

They shared photographs they had taken with artist Lynn Weddle about their lives which had been brought together with their families to create a collaged “body” of their community.
