Aleksandra Mir and Robert Orchardson operate in very different ways, yet there are striking similarities in their work. Orchardson works primarily with sculpture, while Mir creates contemporary works in a variety of different media. They have been brought together for this exhibition because of the rhythm and formal relationships that exist within Orchardson's physical structures and the corresponding lyrical investigation that operates within Mir's films. Rather than focusing on any literal similarities between the intended works, there is a comparison between the temporal structure of Mir's work and the reference to Modernist sculpture in Orchardson's objects.
